and Feel Fabulous- the barriers are taken down. It is called "her ten-week plan, (where) you will rediscover a more natural, nourishing, positive, and pleasurable relationship with food. You’ll super-charge your body—and
your life. And best of all, you’ll embrace the decadence of really great food—and lose weight."
For myself, this book is more than that. It is a plan that starts with a ten-week program which will result in your life changing. Forever. Her attitude is simple, straight-forward and personal. With the program she shares tips, recipes, and gives us the power to change our life, and our families' lives for good. Her assignments aren't hard- and they are never impractical. They are small changes to our attitude, that enable us to take small steps towards that goal we all have...looking fabulous, while satisfying our needs, and all the while actually enjoying it!
I feel fortunate to have been raised in a family that was health-conscious. At least my Mother was. She knew that partially-hydrogenated oils were bad for our bodies years before they were publicly chastised. She avoided processed foods and cooked so much from scratch while using real sugars, not only because it was more affordable, but because she knew the "real stuff" was healthier for us. And for that I am forever grateful. However, as a young adult, I succumbed to the peer pressures of junk food and sodas...all the while wondering why my waist line was hard to maintain. After meeting the man of my dreams my focus was no longer on me, and my needs, but my family and their growing needs. Beth Aldrich shows us how to get back that waist-line and love ourselves more. Because, as we all know: If Momma ain't happy...ain't nobody happy." Am I right, or what?
