Now it's been time to get back into the groove of school. Which means earlier to bed, and earlier to rise...something about making a body healthier, wealthier and wise, right? Yes, it is soo true! I find when I wake up earlier I am so much more productive, and I don't feel so pressured to get everything done in such a rush.
The first stage of back-to-school readiness was restocking the pantry! We took Shi to cost-co and stocked up on all things lunch like...then it was time to adjust sleeping schedules, and my favorite-school shopping! We met my parents in Austin last week for dinner, and went shopping for some new kicks, and threads...because Oma D and Opa John are the best! Then Shi and I went to the big T to get the school supplies.
After church today we spent time organizing his closet, and getting his things in order for his first day. The excitement I see in him is so incredible. I am glad to see him feeling ready and prepared for his first day of third grade. When he gets to be a big guy on campus! And this last weekend of Summer has proven to be some of the best bonding time.
I remember how important those last days leading up to school were to me, and I so happy to have ability to share that joy and excitement with him.
We found an awesome backpack that matches his bike, and a new lunchbox that he loves. I can't wait to walk him into that school in the morning...I know it isn't going to be for long that he will want us to walk him into school, so I am going to soak it up for as long as I can!
Back to our day...Shiloh and I have been cooking more together. We have a couple cookbooks that that he will pick food from. One is a Star Wars cookbook:
His favorite thing to make are the Tie-Fighters...and the Yoda Soda. Oh man. Make the Yoda Soda. It is awesome...even for parents.
But this time we made something that wasn't in the book. I was wanting something that we had all the ingredients for, and that would be healthier than just some plain ol' Mac N' Chz.
So I took a box of my favorite brand of Mac N' Cheese...Annie's Shells and Cheese, and just before the noodles were done cooking put in some peas...and Voila! Princess Padame's Pearls. He loved it!
Just another day in the life of C A Stone...♥
Live in the rhythm of love...and share the bliss!
